An Exceptional Vase, an Exceptional Contribution. Květná Announces 200,000 CZK for Charity

In November, we took part in the charitable evening RakoVíno II, organized by the patient organization Fuck Cancer, which has long supported people fighting cancer and raises important awareness about prevention. The second year of this remarkable event was once again extraordinarily successful. The evening was hosted by Miloš Pokorný, and among the guests was renowned guest chef Zdeněk Pohlreich, who deserves great thanks for his time, energy, and the unique culinary experience that elevated the entire evening into a true celebration of gastronomy.

For this occasion, we donated a unique handcrafted vase designed by architect Professor Petr Pelčák. It is the largest piece our glassworks is capable of producing. The production, including annealing, takes 39 hours; the vase weighs 7 kilograms, and the grinding alone takes about two hours. Its creation is the work of our most experienced team of glassmakers, who specialize in large and technologically demanding pieces.

As a token of appreciation from Fuck Cancer, our unique vase was selected as a gift for the evening’s largest donor, who contributed 200,000 CZK. Thanks to the generosity of all attendees, the event raised a total of 861,180 CZK.
“It was another beautiful harmony of humanity, willingness, and genuine interest in helping. The collected amount will be used to develop an application that improves communication with patients throughout their illness. Every participant deserves heartfelt thanks for their energy and support. These are the people who give our work meaning,” summarizes Karolína Hamanová from the nonprofit organization Fuck Cancer and RakoVíno.

“Health is one of the few things money can’t buy. But we can at least help ease the burden for those going through illness, or support education so that discussions about prevention become more frequent and more open. I’m grateful that as the Květná Glassworks we were able to be part of this effort,” says Josef Anovčín, owner of the Květná glassworks.
