New Drop collection

A Coffee Ritual in Glass

We are expanding our product range
The Květná 1794 glassworks expands its portfolio with a new release sure to delight not only design lovers but also coffee aficionados. The new Drop collection features three types of hand-blown glass cups – for espresso, flat white, and cappuccino – accompanied by matching saucers inspired by the motion of a droplet hitting the surface.
The design comes from the creative duo Klára Janypková and Tomáš Kučera, who also lead the artistic direction of the glassworks. “We wanted to move away from alcohol-related products, of which the portfolio already has plenty. Coffee is close to both of us – and that’s clearly reflected in the result,” the designers explain.

Creator of clean lines
The cups are defined by clean lines, thin glass walls, and a sense of visual lightness. In contrast, the gently rippled saucers add a subtle dynamic touch. The entire collection is intended for special coffee moments – particularly those enjoyed at home – but it can also find its place in slow-paced cafés with a focus on specialty coffee.
Drop comes in five color variants: crystal, smoky gray, rosalin, light blue, and amber. Cups can be purchased as a set with a saucer or individually. Prices start at 389 CZK.
The Drop collection also stands out for its technical craftsmanship. Although crystal is not typically considered heat-resistant glass, the team at Květná has succeeded in creating such thin walls that the cups can handle hot drinks – espresso, filter coffee, or flat white – without issue. The production of the saucers posed a separate challenge: the right grinding technique had to be found to preserve both the clean form and the optical quality of the glass. Historically, glass cups have been absent from the glassworks’ range – making this a completely new type of product that adds a fresh dimension to the offering.
Where to find the collection?
Cups from the Drop collection are available in the glassworks' e-shop, in the company store in Strání, and in the Sklenka store (Jungmannova Street, Prague) and Mlýn Hrušky (near Břeclav). More retail locations will be added gradually.
