Exhibiting at the Maison & Objet trade fair represents a unique opportunity with global reach for Czech brands. This year, the prestigious event took place from January 16 to 20, 2025, in Paris. “During the event, there are opportunities to connect not only with designers and distributors but also with journalists and retailers from around the world. For a brand, it can be a key step toward entering international markets and building a reputation,” said Klára Janypková, the head designer.
Some prominent Czech glassmakers regularly showcase their work at such events. Their participation is always seen as a promotion of Czech glassmaking, which enjoys a global reputation. For the Květná Glassworks, established in 1794, this year marked their debut.
“It was Květná’s world debut of sorts. We managed to establish many new connections. We presented the installation ‘The Sound of Tradition,’ which won the Best Presentation award at Designblok 2024 in October. In Paris, it immediately captured the attention of passersby. It evoked various emotions, ranging from excitement and admiration to even fear. Many visitors couldn’t believe it was made of glass. They were also surprised by how flexible and lightweight the glassware was, as well as its remarkable durability,” shared Klára Janypková.
In addition to the installation, all current collections were on display, allowing visitors to examine or try them up close. The booth attracted not only a French audience but also visitors from around the world, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Korea, the UK, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates.
“The wine glasses, thanks to the mentioned installation, were the biggest hit, along with the new Vial and Desidére collections,” added Klára. The event exceeded expectations, bringing not only new business opportunities but also strengthening awareness of Květná’s Czech glassmaking tradition on an international scale.
