Maintenance

Our glass is of premium quality, mainly thanks to the highest quality raw materials, lead-free glass-melt and handmade processing. That is why we can stand behind our products 100%. But there are a few practices that, if followed, will keep you happy for a long time.

And these are:

  1. Wash gently. What does that mean? You can wash your glasses (no matter if stemmed or stemless) in the dishwasher without fear of them turning grey, but you should always use a gentle programme for glass and make sure that the glass cannot be mechanically damaged in the dishwasher – that is, that it is positioned correctly, that it does not touch other dishes/glasses and that the washing arms do not catch on it. Furthermore, when using dishwasher, we strongly recomend using suitable washing products for your washing-mashine – i.e. the washing liquid and salt (and their right amount) recommended by the producer. We do not recommend to wash thick-walled containers such as decanters, vases and jugs in the dishwasher. For a perfect wash, just soak the vessel in warm water with a little detergent, let sit for a bit and then dry, for hard-to-reach dirt, our debris cleaner will do the trick.
  2. Avoid large temperature changes. Rapid alternation of heat (warm water) and cold (cold water, ice) does not benefit the glass. Therefore, try not to expose jars or pitchers to temperature fluctuations.
  3. Avoid poor polishing. Before polishing your glass, watch this short instructional video for all the information you need.

And that’s it! If you follow these three principles, we believe that glass from Květná will keep you happy for a long time.

Maintenance of decorated glass

  1. Wash sparingly
Products decorated with gold do not belong in the dishwasher. Always wash them by hand using a gentle
    detergent. Also, beware of over-scrubbing.
  2. Avoid large temperature changes
Rapid changes between hot (warm water) and cold (cold water, ice) are bad for the glass.
Try not to expose glasses, decanters or jugs to temperature fluctuations.
  3. Store glassware dry
The reaction of the silver contained in the gold deposit, together with atmospheric influences, can
result in gradual corrosion of the gold decor. To prevent corrosion, store gold
decorated glass in a completely dry environment.
  4. Polish correctly
If your gold decorated product happens to corrode, you can use the original
quality by carefully polishing with a suitable product. For perfect polishing
we recommend SITOL, used for polishing glass, decorated glass and metals.
Polishing must be carried out gently, only in the area affected by corrosion. When polishing aggressively
of the entire surface, the gold coating may be damaged.
